An update about our product

Thanks for stopping by Nozzl Media. We’ve been working night and day for the past several months on what we hope will be a breakthrough product for not only the news industry, but eventually also for other industries that need content streamed to customers or employees in real time. We know you’re interested in where our product stands, so here’s the latest:

At present, we are close to wrapping up development on the four elements that constitute our basic offering. First, we now have a real-time stream of content, which includes a selection of public-record sources, RSS feeds of news sources and blogs, tweets, Flickr and Picasa photos, YouTube videos, and placeholder advertisements. Second, we have a working stream engine that pushes content to web-enabled smartphones and our web widget. Third, we have a real-time filter that enables the end user to filter the stream for items that contain specific words or text strings. Fourth, we’ve built a web-based dashboard that newspaper advertising staffs can use to manage and analyze ads and ad campaigns.

Once we have all four pieces working in tandem, we’ll turn the product over to beta testers, who volunteered to try the product on their phones, a web site, or both. (If you’re interested in being a beta tester, please contact us.) Afterward, we’ll embed a working widget on our site for anyone to play with.

Realistically, we don’t expect to release a beta version into the wild until after the first of the year. And there’s still much work to be done after release, as we add features to future releases, such as geolocation, more data sources, and more robust ad-targeting technology.

If you have questions, don’t hesitate to let us know. We’d love to hear from you.
