Finally, a mobile system built with newspapers and TV news operations
in mind…

Say goodbye to the frustrations of short codes, SMS technology, carrier requirements and handset compatibility.

Say hello to Nozzl Media.

We use simplicity of the mobile Web — not cumbersome wireless protocols — to deliver your branded news and advertising content to readers on the move. Just point and click.

But as simple as our product is, don’t think of us as just a mobile platform.

As longtime journalists, we have created an integrated system that works to:

* Deliver your news automatically to Web-enabled phones as it’s posted online.

* Comb through thousands of public records every day to find news and post it, giving reporters more time for in-depth stories.

* Aggregate links to content from other news sources, local blogs, multimedia and social media.

* Allow readers to fllter the news for only the content they want.

* Enable you to embed the entire real-time content stream directly into your newspaper’s Web site.

Why choose Nozzl Media?

Let’s get down to the nitty-gritty:

The real beauty of the Nozzl Media real-time stream is that it can go wherever you — the publisher — want it to go.

Stream it over your readers’ Web-enabled phones? No problem.

Embed it on your Web site? Got it covered.

Let’s look at mobile editions. By our count, more than 600 U.S. newspapers have them. But nearly every single mobile edition is more like a quiet history museum than a living news site: static, lacking in ads, and updated with new content only occasionally.

It’s not the fault of newspapers. It’s the best they can do with old-fashioned technology that evolved from the mobile phone world.

Nozzl Media offers something better: real-time content that comes from the social-media world.

The Internet is moving away from static content on Web pages.

The explosive growth of Facebook and Twitter demonstrate the power of real-time news feeds that appear immediately on whatever device or application or location users want to use.

Consumers clearly are no longer willing to wait hours for news to reach them.

Nozzl Media offers newspapers a solution: a continually, self-updating stream of content that consumers can customize on the fly — whether it’s on their Web-enabled phones or on your newspaper’s Web site.

How it works

1

We create a massive reservoir of information about your community. Our proprietary and third-party software scours your circulation area for content: your own staff’s stories and blog posts, plus other blogs, Twitter posts, photos, videos, podcasts and other user-generated content. The software also analyzes electronically available public records, such as property sales and licensing databases, detects significant new records and adds those to the reservoir.

2

We create a separate reservoir of classified, text and display advertising. Our system is best-suited for real-time transactional advertising, such as special offers and coupons, delivered to consumers on the basis of their interests or location. Each ad is tagged with one or more keywords that can be matched to consumers who have the same keywords. In addition, smartphones with GPS capability enable our system to alert consumers to nearby deals.

3

We open gates from both reservoirs. That allows all the content — news and advertising alike — to flow out in a real-time river of bite-sized headlines, images, links and other short-content forms. That river is technically a microblog, the same basic technology that Twitter uses.

4

We enable the end user to choose only the information that he or she wants: everything within a mile of home, for instance, or anything having to do with job hunting, green living or new restaurants. That information includes not only news, but also relevant in-stream advertising. A click on an item takes the reader to a landing page.

5

The landing page contains either the full text of the clicked item or a link to the original content. Equally important, the landing page is yet another opportunity for your staff to sell advertising. Moreover, a clickthrough to the landing page increases your page views.
